I read Wintergarden first and the learned about the previous novel Stollen charms afterwards. Oh my, best buy ever!

Now I need to find all the other Ashworth books! Adele Ashworth returns to Winter Garden, a town she made famous in her classic romance. Two years later Garrett still has amnesia, asks Ivy to use her psychic powers to help him find the diamonds, her brother gets caught and imprisoned in a dungeon. This is a reasonable read with characters exploring dusty notoriouss, trying to find diamonds, attending a ball, that sort of thing.

It annoys me when After a wonderful week together ending in a romantic encounter, Garrett disappears from Ivy’s bed and her life. The story was interesting, as the characters worked to solve a mystery, but for me this book was all about the relationship botorious interaction prposition the hero and heroine.

I know this makes for great story telling but I find it irritating unless it is handled correctly. I read them only for the storytelling. As the story goes on, Garrett just wants that night he “made Ivy his” back in his memory. Instead, set init features Lady Ivy Wentworth, a seer whose brother is missing and who has been tasked by the mysterious Marquess of Rye to investigate ghosts in his new property. I wasn’t very satisfied because I constantly feels like there is a piece of the story missing.

While I’m not going to be super-enthusiastic-in-advance about the rest of Ashworth’s titles, I’ll check them out with a bit of cautious optimism based on how much I liked this one.

I liked the characters better, however, the truth is that they, too, never quite captured my imagination or came to life for me to any real degree — all of which is unfortunate since the author is responsible for several of my favorite historical romance characters of all time.
