Es de un hombre que va a pedir un barco al rey y este se lo da. A mi personalmente no me ha gustado mucho. I’m sure there is a profound meaning but it was kind of blah. Sep 18, Jesus rated it it was ok Recommends it for: Un cuento corto, de menos de 35 hojas.

Se trata de un hombre que decide asumir todas las consecuencias con el fin de lograr su objetivo: El Rey termina accediendo y da una carabela al hombre. Todos los personajes carecen de nombres desconocids. A short but intriguing story that is a little too short.

I actually tripled checked to make sure that I had not missed something. The story ends very abruptly and I feel like there could have been a lot more cohesiveness if the story had actually terminated with a more solid conclusion. Fundamentally there should be 3 types: The island would be somewhere between the second and third categories. This was neither of those but was somewhere conceptually in between.

Hacmi fazla kucuk, kurgu fazla yuzeysel. Birkac felsefi cumle keyif verdi, ama okuma zevkimi tatmin etmekten uzakti. This is was an odd little book. I can’t remember now why I wanted to read it.

This was perhaps a little too literary for me – a cute story, beautifully written, but not the sort of thing I would have had any trouble abandoning partway through. Luckily it was a fifteen minute read, so no risk of abandonment. One of the women in my book club commented that it might come across as heavy-handed if you took it too seriously, which I agree with.

I’ll just think of it as a quirky bedtime story. But as a deep symbolic story I just couldn’t quite get there. Glad it only took 10 or 15 minutes to read. Short quick read, a Nobel prize winner, just not my cup of tea. View all 5 comments. It was no Blindness. Feb 03, beco rated it it was ok. I think this was likely not helped by the translation.
